How was your holiday?

Holidays...I love seeing my family but I dread the food temptation.  Since my change in eating habits, I've approached them a little differently in the past couple of years.  Here are 3 steps to eating on plan during those tempting family get togethers:

1)  Volunteer to bring the meat and salad...that way you are assured to have something to eat that won't throw all your hard work away in one meal.

2)  Make special stuff just for you.  I made special buns and a special dessert for me and my husband so we didn't feel like we were missing out.  However, my husband ditched his gluten free brownie for our niece's cheesecake.  That's ok.  He's at goal weight and can indulge every now and then.  I just had the brownie for breakfast the next morning.

3)  Focus on the family.  Anymore we only see each other on special occasions.  Focus on people, catch up on their lives, laugh at funny things...all of these are calorie free!
